Blast Defeat Florida 10-1

Led by Donatelli's 5 points and Vanzela's 13 saves

The Blast improve to 5-0 at home this season after defeating Florida 10-1. In front of a crowd of 3,429, Tony Donatelli recorded 2 goals and 3 assists to lead the Blast while William Vanzela stopped 13 of 14 shots on goal.

The Blast came out strong in the first half, playing well both offensively and defensively. Daniel Peruzzi would score two goals in the opening half for the Blast, with an Andrew Hoxie goal sandwiched between. Jereme Raley would add another goal to give the Blast a 4-0 lead late in the 2nd quarter. The Blast defense blocked seven shots and William Vanzela stopped all 5 shots on goal to give the Blast a 4-0 lead at halftime.

The Blast continued to dominate in the second half, scoring five unanswered goals. Tony Donatelli scored 2 goals, including one on a shootout attempt, and Jamie Thomas, Marco Nascimento, and Nelson Santana would also add a goal each. Raphael Schlemper would score for the Tropics to get them on the board with 6:45 left in the 4th quarter. Adriano Dos Santos would score for the Blast for a final score of 10-1.

With the win, the Blast take a game and a half division lead over second-place Florida. Andrew Hoxie recorded a goal and two assists, and Daniel Peruzzi had two goals and an assist in the game. Florida goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa recorded 13 saves.

The Blast have two games next weekend, travelling to Florida for a rematch with the Tropics on Friday, December 15th at 7:35 p.m. and then going to Harrisburg to play the Heat on Saturday, December 16th at 7:05 p.m. Both games can be streamed at masl.tv or on the MASL app.
