Blake Parker Recalled by Chicago

Oklahoma City, OK - The Chicago Cubs recalled Iowa RHP Blake Parker today and assigned RH Yoanner Negrin back to the I-Cubs. Negrin will be available out of the I-Cubs bullpen tonight in Oklahoma City.

This will be Parker's third stint with Chicago this season. Parker has no record and a 1.44 ERA (4ER/25.0IP) in 25 appearances with the I-Cubs this season and leads the PCL with 18 saves. Parker is Iowa's all-time saves leader with 59. In his first two stints with Chicago, Parker allowed three runs in 2.2 innings in three appearances.

Negrin was transferred to short-season Boise on July 1, but didn't make an appearance for the Hawks. He is 0-1 with a 5.20 ERA (16ER/27.2IP) and one save in 15 games with Iowa this season. He has walked 16 and struck out 26. Negrin also had a stint with Tabasco in the Mexican League this season from May 3-23. He was 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (2ER/5.1IP) and two saves in four games in Mexico.

The Iowa Cubs play wrap up a three-game series in Oklahoma City tonight at 6:05. The Cubs will have RH Kyle Hendricks (10-5, 3.58) on the mound against LH Rudy Owens (4-4, 5.45) for the RedHawks. The game will be broadcast live on AM 940 and streamed live at iowacubs.com with the On-Deck Circle Pre-Game Show starting at 5:45.
