Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Saskatoon Blades saw their four game winning streak come to a halt on Wednesday night, falling 3-1 to the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Blades now sit at 14-8-2-0 on the season, still 2nd place in the East Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Tristen Robins opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period, finishing off a nice passing play by linemates Kristian Roykas-Marthinsen and Kyle Crnkovic who had the assists. However, the Hurricanes answered back 35 seconds later to tie it up 1-1. The second period saw plenty of minor penalties but not much offense as the 1-1 tie carried over to the 3rd period.

Lethbridge took their first lead 3:17 into the final frame courtesy of Ty Kolle and then added an empty netter in the final minute to seal the victory.

TURNING POINT

The go-ahead goal from Ty Kolle gave the Hurricanes life, and the lead. Saskatoon didn't appear to have the momentum to come back after that.
