SEVENTH HEAVEN: Saskatoon Blades rookie defenceman Morgan Tastad scored a goal and an assist in the club's 5-1 win over the Kamloops Blazers Wednesday at SaskTel Centre.

The 6-foot-4 blueliner has four points (2G, 2A) on the season, all coming in his last three games. Tastad's taken on an increased role with Tanner Molendyk representing Team Canada at the World Junior Championships and others out of the lineup.

Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Brandon Lisowsky potted the game-winner for his 17th goal of the season. The Port Coquitlam, BC product extended his point streak to five games with the goal and an assist for six points (2G, 4A) during that span. Captain Trevor Wong and Anaheim Ducks draft pick each extended their point streak to five games with assists on the goal.

Rookie netminder Evan Gardner picked up his eighth win of the season with a 24-save performance. The NHL Draft eligible goalie boasts a .926 save-percentage and 2.14 goals-against-average in 12 games this season.

The victory is the Blades season-high seventh in a row, leaving them atop the WHL with a 23-8-1-0 record.

NEXT GAME: The Blades welcome the Kelowna Rockets to SaskTel Centre on Saturday for their final game before the Christmas break.
