Saskatoon Blades News Release
Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades traded forward Conner Roulette to the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for two WHL Prospect Draft picks. The picks include both Spokane's 2024 second-round selection and their 2027 third-rounder.
Roulette was acquired by the Blades prior to the 2022-23 season from the Seattle Thunderbirds, adding skill and veteran presence to a championship hungry club. The Dallas Stars' 2021 fourth-round selection tied a career-high 24 goals in 60 games, while dishing 38 helpers. Roulette heads into his final WHL season creeping up on 200 career games, owning 73 goals and 179 points in 191 appearances.
"We would like to thank Conner for a great season with us," said general manager Colin Priestner, "He was a great player on the ice and his leadership with the Indigenous youth in our city will have a lasting impact."
The Winnipeg, MB product earned three goals and seven points in 18 playoff games with the Blue and Gold. Roulette shined with two tallies in Game 7 of Round 2 vs the Red Deer Rebels, helping secure the club's first Eastern Conference Championship berth since 1994. Roulette suited up in 25 playoff appearances en route to the finals the previous season with the Thunderbirds, giving him eight goals and 25 points in 43 career playoff outings.
"Having seven quality overage candidates for only three spots means having to make some very tough decisions but we felt it was a good deal for both sides and Spokane is a great place for him to conclude his junior career," said Priestner.
We thank Conner for all his contributions to the city of Saskatoon, the organization, and his work with indigenous communities in our province. We wish Conner the best of luck in Spokane!
