Saskatoon Blades News Release

Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades have released 2004 born forward Brandon Lisowsky from the active roster.

Lisowsky was selected 9th overall by the Blades at the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft and dressed in five games during the 2019 pre-season. From those five contests, Lisowsky notched one game-winning-goal and four assists.

Lisowsky is expected to join the Burnaby Winter Club Midget Prep of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. The 15-year-old forward is not eligible to play full time in the WHL until the 2020-21 season. Lisowsky was the last remaining 2004 born player on the season roster.

Jayden Wiens, who made the team out of camp following his signing back in June, had been listed on the roster as an affiliate player. Now, he has been activated as a regular roster player and can play the full season with the Saskatoon Blades.

Wiens, who hails from Carrot River, Saskatchewan, was selected at 155th overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season with the Tisdale Trojans of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, Wiens led his team in scoring for the league playoffs and again for the Telus Cup where he scored 6 goals with 2 assists in just 7 games.

Saskatoon's active roster now sits at 24 players; 14 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders.
