Blades Lock Down Hurricanes for Sixth Straight Win
February 6, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
PLAYOFFS?: The Saskatoon Blades picked up their sixth straight win as they beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1 at SaskTel Centre on Tuesday.
The victory marks Saskatoon's 11th straight at home, improving their CHL best record on home soil to 22-1-1-0. The Blades lead the WHL with a 37-9-2-3 record, and have the possibility to clinch come Friday night. If the Prince Albert Raiders lose their game Wednesday to Lethbridge, and the Blades beat the Raiders at home in regulation on Friday, Saskatoon is headed to their fourth straight postseason.
Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten collected two points (1G, 1A) to extend his point streak to five games (6G, 2A). In 26 games this season, Minten has 15 goals and 34 points.
Sophomore netminder Austin Elliott earned his 23rd win of the season after a 16-save performance. The second-year Blade is one win shy of 50 in his WHL career.
NEXT GAME: The Blades conclude their seven-game home-stand on Friday against the Prince Albert Raiders.
Puck drop is 7:00pm.
