WHL Official Sarauer Receives WHL Milestone Award

Medicine Hat, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today WHL Official Greg Sarauer has been honoured with the WHL Milestone Award. Sarauer was recognized by Kevin Muench, WHL Senior Director, Officiating, in a special ceremony prior to Tuesday's game between the Regina Pats and Medicine Hat Tigers.

The WHL Milestone Award is presented to WHL players, coaches, trainers, officials, and WHL Championship teams for their outstanding achievements.

"On behalf of the WHL and our member Clubs, we would like to congratulate Greg on receiving this prestigious WHL Milestone Award," commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. "It takes a tremendous commitment to be an official in the WHL and we would like to thank Greg for his remarkable service to our League over the past 24 seasons."

A product of Outlook, Sask., Sarauer is in his 24th season and final in the WHL. His WHL career began during the 2000-01 WHL Regular Season. From 2008 through 2011, Sarauer also worked as a WHL Referee, in addition to his duties as a WHL Linesperson. Since joining the WHL, he has skated in more than 400 WHL Regular Season games and has appeared in the WHL Playoffs in 16 seasons.
