Blades Beat Pats 4-3 in OT

Regina, Sask. - The Saskatoon Blades forced extra-time with 27 seconds left in the third and completed the comeback in overtime, defeating the Pats 4-3 on Tuesday inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats led 2-1 after one and after two periods of play before making it 3-1 in the third. The Blades late comeback forced overtime in the series for a second straight game as Brandon Lisowsky tied it, and Egor Sidorov's second of the night was the overtime winner.

Connor Bedard continued his torrid play this post-season, collecting three points (1G-2A), giving him 11 points in three playoff games. Stanislav Svozil (1G-1A) scored for a third straight game, while Alexander Suzdalev also chipped in with a goal and an assist. Drew Sim was specular in net, making 33 saves, including a pair of highlight stops.

The Blades are back in the series, trailing 2-1. Sidorov scored twice, while Jayden Wiens and Lisowsky scored the others. Trevor Wong added three assists and Ethan Chadwick grabbed the win, allowing three goals on 24 shots.

THE GOALS

First Period

REG 1-0 at 2:32 - Stanislav Svozil (3) assisted by Connor Bedard and Riley Ginnell // Bedard carried the puck into the Blades zone and sent a pass to the front of the net where he found a streaking Svozil who made no mistake to give the Pats a 1-0 lead early in game three.

SAS 1-1 at 12:21 - Jayden Wiens (2) assisted by Aidan Del La Gorgendiere and Trevor Wong (PP) // De La Gorgeniere's long point shot was kicked out by Sim but Wiens was there to tap home the rebound to get the Blades back on even terms at 1-1.

REG 2-1 at 13:25 - Alexander Suzdalev (1) assisted by Connor Bedard and Stanislav Svozil // Svozil made a nice play along the Blades blueline to get the puck to Bedard who teed one up for Suzdalev who one-timed it past Chadwick to give the Pats a 2-1 lead heading into the first-period break.

Second Period

No scoring.

Third Period

REG 3-1 at 9:39 - Connor Bedard (6) assisted by Alexander Suzdalev and Riley Ginnell // The puck was chipped up toward the Blades blueline and Bedard split the defencemen and went in and sniped low glove side to extend the Pats lead to 3-1.

SAS 3-2 at 10:32 - Egor Sidorov (1) assisted by Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Trevor Wong (PP) // Sidorov got the puck deep in the slot and fired a wrist shot past Sim to pull the Blades to within a single marker at 3-2.

SAS 3-3 at 19:33 - Brandon Lisowsky (1) assisted by Jake Chiasson and Trevor Wong (PP) // With the Blades playing with an extra attacker and on the powerplay, Lisowsky was able to chip the puck past Sim to tie the game and send it to overtime all squared up at 3-3.

Overtime

SAS 3-4 at 5:19 - Egor Sidorov (2) assisted by Ben Saunderson // The puck was chipped into the Pats zone where Sidorov beat his man, took it in, and buried the puck to give the Blades an overtime win.

NOTES

Connor Bedard continued his hot streak in the playoffs as he added another three points (1G-2A) to give him 11 points (6-5) in three playoff games so far.

Stanislav Svozil had his third straight one-goal, one-assist game to give him six points (3G-3A) in the playoffs.

Alexander Suzdalev scored his first playoff goal and now has six points (1G-5A) in the playoffs.

Riley Ginnell had a pair of assists to give him four points (1G-3A) so far in the playoffs.
