ICE Get Past Tigers, 7-2 to Lead Best of 7 Series 3-0

The Winnipeg ICE built up a 3-0 lead 5:58 into the opening period on their way to a 7-2 decision over the Medicine Hat Tigers Tuesday night at Co-Op Place.

Zack Ostapchuk, Evan Friesen and Matthew Savoie capitalized in the first, Ty Nash and Conor Geekie in the second period then Connor McClennon and Easton Armstrong each scored power play goals in the final 20 minutes.

The win gives Winnipeg a 3-0 series lead heading into Game 4 tomorrow (Wednesday) night in Medicine Hat.

Brendan Lee and Gavin McKenna replied for the Tigers who outshot the ICE 25-24.

Daniel Hauser earned the victory in goal making 23 saves. Medicine Hat goaltender Beckett Langkow allowed seven goals on 23 shots, Zach Zahara made one save in relief over the final 7:56.

The ICE went 2/7 on the power play, the Tigers were 1/4.
