Blackhawks sign Brian Bunche
October 19, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Bellevue Blackhawks News Release
Bellevue, WA. The ABA Bellevue Blackhawks professional basketball team has signed its third player - Brian Bunche, a versatile 6'8" forward/center from Southeast Missouri State where he averaged 14.3 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 3.3 apg and 2.3 spg. According to Blackhawks President, Michael Tuckman,"Coach Tucker found Bunche to be a very athletic player with 17-foot shooting range who excels on defense. He's had good coaching having played professionally in the Netherlands."
Blackhawks Coach Rick Turner added, "Brian's extremely tough. He has a strong inside game and can put the ball on the floor and score in the low post. His size and athleticism gives him a great combination of being one of the best rebounders at his position while enabling him to shoot over smaller defenders."
Bunche joins 6'4" guards Rashaad Powell and Eddie George who signed earlier this month. The Blackhawks' inaugural ABA season begins on Nov 22nd in Portland against the Reign and will open its home schedule on Nov 25th against the Utah Snowbears.
