Tijuana Dragons News Release

Tijuana, MX. Andrew Ditto, General Manager of the ABA Tijuana Dragons professional basketball named former NBA star Acie Earl as Head Coach. According to Ditto, "With the calibre of coaching in this year's ABA, we knew we had to get someone with a great background and outstanding knowledge of the game. With a tremendous college and pro career, in Acie, we got the man we wanted."

Following a tremendous college career at Iowa where he was named Defensive Player of the Year in 1990-1991 and third in the nation in blocked shots, Acie was drafted in the 1st round by the Boston Celtics and played from 1993-1997 with the Celtics and Toronto Raptors. From there, Acie played internationally with several teams receiving numerous awards.

Earl stated, "The competition level in this league is amazing. It is going to take very good players to be competitive. Fortunately, we've had some outstanding players in our tryouts and I am being contacted everyday by former NBA players and top international players about becoming part of our team. We'll be competitive."
