Dragones silence the Buzz
December 18, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Tijuana Dragons News Release
Tijuana Dragones won their first game at home last saturday, in dramatic fashion, beating the Maywood Buzz 129-127 in overtime.
Buzz tied the game at 125 with a miracle 3 pointer by former Dragon, Lamar Gayle, with the buzzard sounding with the ball in the air.
But Tijuana played great defense in overtime and held Maywood to just 2 points in the extra 3 minutes of play, to claim the victory.
Dragones (3-3) had great help from Kareem Grant (29 points) and Lamont Barnes (28), but Mike Jones keep them in contention with his 18 rebounds (8 offensive), as well as 18 points, and Raynardo Curry has a double-double too with 18 points and 10 assists.
For Maywood (5-4), Tarron Williams had 40 points and Gayle scores 30. Next game for Dragones will be at King County, visiting the Royals next wednesday.
