Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Waterloo Black Hawks scored twice in the opening minute Saturday, then added two more pairs of goals separated by just over a minute each time, in a 7-1 romp while visiting the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Luke Hannon started the busy night just 32 seconds into the game, lifting a backhander into the net. Only 26 seconds later, Blake Thompson blasted in a chance, becoming the first of four Black Hawks defensemen to score a goal during the evening.
After the early fireworks, Waterloo went back to work in the second period on the power play. Andrew Panzarella and Mike Montagna each tallied markers during the same double-minor high sticking call at 2:11 and 3:21 respectively. T.J. Powers swept in a rebound in the midst of a five-on-three advantage at 7:10. Jacob MacDonald - on the power play - and Zach Palmquist each poked in their own rebound chances at 14:19 and 15:29, to make it a 7-0 score.
In the third, Mike Conderman recorded the lone Lumberjack goal at 5:22. Jay Williams stopped Muskegon's other 26 chances.
The Black Hawks return home for an iwireless College Weekend at Young Arena. Friday they host the Youngstown Phantoms, with a Saturday home match-up versus the Chicago Steel. College students can enjoy $7 seats by showing their id at the Black Hawks box office.
