
Black drives in 3 runs to lead Intimidators

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 21, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators used six shutout innings from starter Matt Heidenreich in a 4-1 victory over the West Virginia Power on Thursday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
Heidenreich (1-1) earned the win allowing just three hits and two walks in six scoreless innings pitched, striking out two batters along the way.
First baseman Dan Black drove in three of the Intimidators runs, including a two-run single in the fourth and a solo homerun (2) in the six. Black finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
RHP Phil Negus tossed two scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Chase Cooney allowed a run in the ninth inning in closing out the game. West Virginia starter Tyler Waldron earned the loss, allowing all four Intimidators runs off eight hits in six innings of work.
