TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Gwinnett Braves in the final game of a four-game series at Coolray Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd has won two straight games against the Braves and will look for the series win in tonight's finale. It would be the Bisons first series win since they took three of four games in Norfolk, June 4-7, The Bisons will travel to Charlotte tomorrow for a four-game series against the Knights.
vs. BRAVES: The Herd now leads the Braves 2-1 in this four-game series. A series victory would be the first for the Bisons against Gwinnett, who is in their second year of existence. The two clubs split each four-game set last season in the Braves' debut year.
GOSH GOLLY GEE: RHP DILLON GEE is in search for his team-leading seventh win of the season tonight. Gee has been denied number seven in each of his last four starts. On Saturday, Gee allowed just one earned run in six innings but the Bisons lost in 10 innings to Indianapolis. Gee leads the Bisons staff with 75 strikeouts.
OUR PAL, VAL: OF VALENTINO PASCUCCI has been a force as of late. In his last five games, Pascucci is batting .375 (6-16) with a 1.25 slugging percentage, six runs scored and eight RBI. His last six hits have all gone for extra-bases, with two doubles and four home runs since last Friday.
TO DUDA LIST: OF LUCAS DUDA first Triple-A home run last night proved to be the game-winning run. Duda hit a solo shot off Todd Redmond with two outs in the sixth inning. Duda had three hits in the game and has now hit in all but one of his eight games with the Bisons. Duda was promoted on June 13 after hitting .286 in 45 games with Double-A Binghamton.
LEFTY MIKE: LHP MIKE O'CONNOR has made five consecutive scoreless appearances for the Herd. During the stretch, the lefty has allowed just three hits while striking out seven batters in 6.2 innings of work. On the season, O'Connor has retired the first batter he's faced in 21 of his 25 outings (84%) and has only allowed five of 21 inherited runners to score (24%).
METS UPDATE: Last night, the Mets (41-30) shutout the visiting Tigers, 5-0, in game two of a three-game series. Former Bison RHP R.A DICKEY tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out four batters to improve to 6-0 with the Mets. INF JOSE REYES went 3-4 with three runs scored, a triple, home run and an RBI in the victory. The Mets and Tigers play their final game tonight at 7:10 p.m.
