Indianapolis Indians Unveil "Stars & Stripes" Cap

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians have announced they will wear patriotic "Stars & Stripes" caps as a part of their uniform during their July 4th game at 6 p.m. against the Louisville Bats at Victory Field.

The red, white and blue caps will be worn to raise money and awareness for Welcome Back Veterans, a program which addresses the mental health and job needs of returning American Veterans. Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball Properties will donate all proceeds received from the sale of the caps to Welcome Back Veterans.

The commemorative caps feature a white top, a blue bill and the Indians' traditional cap logo filled with American flag inspired stars and stripes. Fans can purchase the caps online at IndyIndians.com or at the Hot Corner Gift Shop at Victory Field. The Hot Corner Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on home game days through the end of the game.

Tickets are still available for the Indians annual July 4th home game. Following the game, fans can enjoy a double play of fireworks with a post-game Victory Field fireworks show as well as Downtown Indianapolis' "Freedom Blast" fireworks show.

The Indians will also treat fans to a bonus holiday weekend fireworks show on Friday, July 2nd following the Indians 7:15 p.m. game against the Columbus Clippers.
