Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox at Dunn Tire Park (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off an unbelievable night as they came from eight runs down to defeat the PawSox, 15-14, in the completion of a suspended game. Buffalo then won a second game, 5-0. On the hill today will be LHP Jason Stanford, who earned a no-decision on Tuesday in Syracuse (6.2IP, 7H, 4ER, 3K).
ON CLOUD NINE: The Bisons nine-run rally last night was the largest ninth-inning comeback in Dunn Tire Park history (previously 4 runs, 8/8/06 vs. Ottawa). The eight-run comeback ties the Modern Era record, set August 19, 2000(2) against the Lynx. Buffalo won that game 9-8 despite trailing 8-0 at one point.
UNCOOPED: Outfielder Jason Cooper drove in a pair of runs in each game last night and now has 12RBI on the season. His Bisons career total of 138RBI is T14th with Brian Giles on the Modern Era Charts. With 10 more RBI, Cooper would crack the top-10.
SUPER JOE: Infielder Joe Inglett went 2-4 in yesterday's first game. He now has a .317 batting average in his three-year Bisons career. That's the second highest average for anyone with at least 500AB in the Modern Era, trailing only Dave Clark's .327 mark.
CHART TOPPERS: Yesterday's action has some Bisons climbing the league's offensive charts. Ben Francisco is now T7th in average (.333). Ryan Mulhern is T4th in home runs (6) and 3rd in RBI (21) and slugging percentage (.616). Hector Luna is now T4th in the league in doubles (8).
HIGH OCTANE: The Bisons' 150 runs in 25 games (6.0 runs/game) are the most in the International League (16 more than any other team. The Herd is also second in the IL in average (.276) and stolen bases (36) and tied for second in hits (234).
