Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the finale of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (12:05 p.m.). The Herd will be looking for the series win after a 6-2 victory in game three last night. On the mound for Buffalo will be RHP Jake Dittler. Dittler saw his last outing go just two innings (L, 6H, 4ER) because the game was suspended a day due to rain. The PawSox will go with former Cleveland Indians' pitcher, RHP Jason Johnson, who threw seven shutout innings last Thursday for his second consecutive victory.

FAMILIAR FOES: Buffalo will play 30 of their final 34 games against teams in the International League North. At 30-20, the Herd has the best divisional record in the North.

TWO FOR TWO: Infielder Kevin Kouzmanoff has homered in each of his first two games at the Triple-A level. Kouzmanoff hit a two-run no-doubter to left field in the fourth inning last night and also singled in the sixth. The third baseman led the Double-A Akron Aeros with 15 homers prior to his promotion on Friday. He has now homered eight times in his last 14 games.

MORE AND MORE: Jason Dubois continues to pile on the RBI. The slugger had an RBI-single in the Bisons' four-run sixth inning last night for his team-leading 69th run driven in (T3rd in the IL). Dubois has been on a tear of late with 18RBI in his last 12 games. He hit .310 (27-87) with seven home runs and 22RBI in July.

NEW SPOT: Jason Alfaro has filled in nicely for the Bisons in the #3 spot in the order. In the past two games, Alfaro has hit .500 (5-10) batting third in the lineup with three doubles and two RBI. A hot bat of late, Alfaro is also 21 of his last 54 (.389), a stretch that began on July 17. In the 14 games since, he has six doubles, two homers and 12RBI.

HOMER TEAM: Kevin Kouzmanoff and Jason Cooper both hit two-run homers last night. The Bisons now have 107 home runs on the season, behind only the Mud Hens' 112.

STRIVE FOR FIVE: With a win this afternoon, the Bisons would move to five games over the .500-mark for the first time this season. The last time the Herd was four-games over was on April 28 when they were just 13-9. Buffalo has been around the .500-mark all season and has yet to be more than three games under even.
