Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons host the Pawtucket Red Sox in the finale of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is 4-2 on its seven-game homestand that ends today. The Bisons have won 10 of their last 15 games and are 9-11 at Coca-Cola Field this season.
Last Game (PAW 7, BUF 4)
Pawtucket scored three runs in the sixth inning to erase a 3-2 Bisons' advantage and snap Buffalo's three-game win streak. DH Jesus Montero homered as part of a two-hit game. LHP Scott Diamond allowed five runs in 5.2 innings to fall to 3-4 on the year.
vs. Pawtucket (4-5)
The Bisons can earn a series win with a victory today. Buffalo had wins of 7-5 and 6-5 to begin the series. These teams won't meet again until August 12, but still have eight more games to play. Eight of the nine games thus far have been decided by three runs or less.
Wade LeBlanc
LHP Wade LeBlanc brings the 4th-best ERA (1.64) in the International League into today's game. The veteran has not allowed an earned run in three straight starts, a span of 19.2 innings. On Tuesday, LeBlanc allowed an unearned run in 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Toledo. LeBlanc leads the Bisons in wins (4).
Andy Burns
INF Andy Burns has hit .400 (12-25) over his six-game hit streak. Since May 4, the infielder has a double, a triple, a home run, seven RBI and six runs scored. He's also driven in nine in his last nine games. Burns has 171 hits in 156 career Triple-A games, including 35 doubles.
Jesus Montero
DH Jesus Montero had his team-best 12th multi-hit performance on Saturday. Montero ranks T4th in the IL with 46 hits on the season, while his team-best 23 RBI are 10th in the circuit. Montero's 12 doubles are 3rd best in the IL.
Injury Rehabs
The Bisons have three Blue Jays players on MLB injury rehab assignments. INF Devon Travis has hit .308 with two doubles and two RBI in three games while RHP Bo Schultz has allowed six earned runs in three outings (3.1 IP). LHP Aaron Loup joined the Bisons yesterday after three rehab assignments with Dunedin (A)(2.0IP, 3H, 4R, 2K).
Bisons Bits
INF David Adams has hit in 12 of his last 13 games with a .400 average (14-35)...RHP Dustin Antolin has recorded a save in each of his last four outings with the Herd.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (21-24) were defeated by the Twins, 5-3, on Saturday. Minnesota scored five times in the eighth inning to overcome home runs from RF Jose Bautista and OF Michael Saunders. LHP J.A. Happ worked into the eighth inning but suffered his second straight defeat. Toronto takes on the Twins again this afternoon at 2:10 p.m.
