Today's Game:

The Buffalo Bisons host the Norfolk Tides in the finale a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Bisons need a win today to earn a split of the series and the homestand, which began with a four-game split with the Bats. Tomorrow, the Bisons leave for an eight-game roadtrip to Louisville and Indianapolis.

vs. the Tides

The Bisons are 1-2 against the Tides so far this season. Since 1998, Buffalo is 73-46 against Norfolk, good for a .613 winning percentage. The Bisons are 35-24 all time against the Tides at Coca-Cola Field.

On the Hill

RHP MIGUEL BATISTA will make his sixth start of the season today. The veteran allowed four runs in six innings of work in a no-decision on Saturday against Louisville. Batista has allowed four runs or less in all five of his starts and has yielded just one home run in 20.1 innings.

Roster Moves

The Blue Jays have selected the contracts of RHP RAMON ORTIZ and RHP MICKEY STOREY. To make roster room, Toronto has optioned LHP RICKY ROMERO to the Bisons and designated former Herd pitcher, RHP EDGAR GONZALEZ. Romero won 51 games with the Blue Jays since 2009 and made two starts with Toronto in 2013.

Jim Negrych

INF JIM NEGRYCH is on seven-game hit streak and has averaged .429 (12-28) since May 2. Negrych's .429 average on the season is 27 points better than any hitter in affiliated baseball. He also leads all IL hitters in on-base pct. (.480) and slugging pct (.681) and is 2nd in doubles (12) and 4th in runs scored (41).

Topping the Charts

INF LUIS JIMENEZ (.366), C JOSH THOLE (.354) and OF MOISES SIERRA (.351) rank 3rd-5th in the IL in hitting. Jimenez leads the league in RBI (31) and is 2nd in slugging pct (.653). OF ANTHONY GOSE is tops in the league with 26 runs scored. RHP NEIL WAGNER is tied for second with his eight saves on the season.

Bisons Bits

INF ANDY LaROCHE has hit in five straight games with a .421 average (8-19) since May 3 (8-19, .364)...Buffalo has hit a home run in eight straight contests...RHP NEIL WAGNER has allowed just two hits in his last nine appearances (9.0 IP, 14 SO).

Toronto's (13-22) had their three-game winning streak snapped with a 10-4 Tampa win last night. INF EDWIN ENCARNACION hit his 10th home run of the season and drove in three runs in the loss. The Blue Jays can still win the series with a 7:10 p.m. first pitch tonight.
