Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 2-1 series win against Pawtucket, punctuated by back-to-back 2-0 shutout wins yesterday.

vs. the IronPigs

The Bisons got the better of Lehigh Valley in 2014, picking up 12 wins in 16 games against the IronPigs. Buffalo won eight straight at one point last season and finished the season series 6-2 at both clubs' ballparks. The Herd holds the 60-51 advantage all time against the IronPigs.

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND is coming off a stellar 2015 debut, having allowed just one hit in seven innings of a no-decision on Saturday in Rochester. Copeland took a no-hitter into the seventh before Red Wings' C Josmil Pinto got aboard with a one-out infield single. Copeland has worked seven innings and allowed one or fewer runs in four of his five career starts with the Bisons.

Shutdown Staff

The Bisons pitching staff already has three shutout wins on the year. The club had only six in all of last season. The combination of LHP JEFF FRANCIS, RHP BO SCHULTZ, LHP ANDREW ALBERS and RHP BOBBY KORECKY yielded just six hits and three walks with 14 strikeouts in yesterday's doubleheader sweep. The quartet didn't allow a single PawSox runner to reach third base in either game.

Bobby Korecky

RHP BOBBY KORECKY is a perfect 2-for-2 in save chances this season. The veteran has converted 24 of his 27 save opportunities in his three-year Bisons career, good for a 88.9% success rate. His 24 Herd saves are tied for the 5th most in the team's modern era, just five behind former Bisons' RHP Fernando Cabrera.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons are one of three International League teams without a home run this season...INF ANDY WILKINS has a four-game hit streak with a .417 average (5-12) and three walks since Sunday...Yesterday's doubleheader took just three hours and 10 minutes, or four minutes less than the Herd's 9-6 loss to Pawtucket on Monday/Tuesday.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (5-4) picked up a 12-7 win over Tampa Bay last night. Former Bisons OF Kevin Pillar was 2-4 with two runs scored and made an amazing catch in left field to take away a home run. INF Josh Donaldson also had three hits and three RBI. Toronto hosts the Rays again tonight at 7:07 p.m.
