Bats Host Thunder Game, Frozen Day Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats will host a home game on the day of Thunder Over Louisville for the 16th straight year this Saturday. Gates will open at noon and first pitch against the Indianapolis Indians is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Reserved seats for Thunder are sold out, but tickets for standing room access are still available for $20. Also this weekend, the Bats will host their first ever Frozen Day Sunday where young fans can meet and take photos with the Frozen princesses.

For Thunder, field access passes may be purchased once inside the stadium for $5 (initial ticket cost not included). The field access passes will allow fans to enjoy the air show, the postgame concert by Sixteen Candles as they play their favorite hits from the 1980s and the fireworks from the Louisville Slugger Field outfield grass. The ballpark, its concessions and its restrooms will be open to fans from noon until the conclusion of the fireworks show at 10 p.m.

First pitch on Sunday is also set for 2:05 p.m. with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Frozen princess for Frozen Day photo opportunities. Pictures with Anna and Elsa will be from the 2nd inning until the end of the 6th inning at the playground area. In addition to Frozen Day, the Bats' first team autograph day will also take place Sunday on the outfield warning track from 12:45-1:30 p.m. (Please, only one item per player or coach.) There will also be inflatables for kids in the Hall of Fame Pavilion, the Bats' new Kids Eat Free promotion (hot dog, junior nachos and Pepsi) and kids may run the bases following the game.

The Bats enter Thursday night's game in Indianapolis at 3-4 after winning Wednesday's series opener at Victory Field. The Bats have received dominant pitching performances from Michael Lorenzen, Jon Moscot and Dylan Axelrod in their three early wins. Reds pitching prospect Raisel Iglesias was also added to the roster this week and will make his Triple-A debut Friday night. Louisville and Indianapolis are currently in a split five-game series and will meet 25 times in all this season.

The Bats have averaged 8,912 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled over 9.4 million fans through 15 seasons. - Kids Eat Free: New for 2015 at every Sunday home game, all kids 12-and-under with paid admission receive a free hot dog, junior nachos and small soda. One meal per child.

- Postgame Kids Run the Base, presented by the YMCA and Meijer.
