TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons face the Durham Bulls in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). Durham won the series opener, 12-6, last night. The Bisons are now 3-2 on their current eight-game homestand that started with a 3-1 series win against Louisville. The Bisons are 22-19 as the home team this season.
vs. BULLS: The Bisons are now winless in five games against Durham this season. The Bulls swept a four-game set in Durham, June 22-25. Buffalo has lost seven straight to the Bulls dating back to 2011. The last time the Bisons won a four-game series over Durham was a 3-1 victory, April 27-30, 2010.
FAMILIA: RHP JEURYS FAMILIA gets the ball for the 17th time this season. The righty has allowed three earned runs or less in each of his last six home games. On Tuesday, Familia yielded just one run in five innings of a no-decision against the Bats. On the season, Familia is third on the Bisons with 65 strikeouts. Buffalo is 9-7 in his 16 previous starts.
LEWIS: OF FRED LEWIS stole two bases last night to give him 14 in 18 attempts this season. The 14 stolen bases are the highest by a Bison in a single season since OF Ben Francisco (22) and INF Trent Durrington (15) during the 2007 campaign. With his two steals last night, Lewis now has 201 career steals as a professional, including 53 at the major league level.
SILKY: Since rejoining the Bisons on June 9, INF JOSH SATIN has hit .342 (25-73) with 11RBI and 17 runs scored in 21 games. His .435 on-base percentage during that stretch is the 8th-best in the International League. Satin has reached base in 10 straight games, a streak that includes seven multi-hit games.
J-ROD: INF JOSH RODRIGUEZ has hit in seven of his first eight games with the Bisons, including four multi-hit efforts. Combined with his 57 games with Binghamton (AA), Rodriguez is hitting .302 (75-248) with eight home runs, 34RBI and 36 runs scored.
BISON BITS: OF ADAM LOEWEN went 1-4 with a double for St. Lucie (A) on Saturday. It was his first game after missing 61 games on the Bisons disabled list...Ten of OF MATT DEN DEKKER'S first 15 hits at Triple-A have gone for extra bases (4 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homers).
METS UPDATE : The Mets (43-36) won their fourth straight game with a 5-0 victory over the Dodgers. LHP JOHAN SANTANA allowed just three singles in eight innings of work. Former Bisons INF IKE DAVIS added a three-run homer in the win. The Mets go for the sweep tonight on Sunday Night Baseball (8:00 p.m.).
