TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons host the Columbus Clippers for the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (2:05 p.m.). This is the final series in the Herd's modern era record 16-game homestand. Buffalo has already picked up a 3-1 series win vs. Gwinnett, lost a 3-1 set to Indianapolis and split a four-game series with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

vs. CLIPPERS: This is the first meeting between the Bisons and the Clippers this season. Buffalo lost the season series in 2011 with only three wins in eight games. That included a four-game sweep by Columbus at Coca-Cola Field, June 11-14. Still, the Bisons are 31-25 against the Clippers at home since 1998.

DEALIN' DYLAN: RHP DYLAN OWEN makes a spot start for the Bisons today, his fourth start out of the bullpen this year. Owen made three consecutive starts, April 23 - May 5(1), and was 1-1 with a 1.65ERA. The victory was a seven-inning performance against Rochester on April 29 (4H, 1ER). Owen was 6-7 with a 3.87ERA in 20 starts with Buffalo last season.

HITTIN' HERD: Despite getting shutout yesterday, the Bisons still own the best team batting average in the IL. Hitting at a .277 clip, Buffalo's average is eight points higher than the next team, the visiting Clippers (.269). The Herd also ranks 2nd in the IL with 241 runs scored and third with 50 home runs.

YOUNG: RHP CHRIS YOUNG joined the Bisons yesterday. The 6'10" veteran is scheduled to start for the Herd on Thursday. Young is working his way back from shoulder surgery last May after going 1-0 with a 1.88ERA in four starts with the Mets to begin the 2011 season.

ELVIN: RHP ELVIN RAMIREZ has been just about perfect since his May 4 promotion to the Bisons. The reliever has made nine scoreless appearances out of the bullpen, picking up two wins and a save. In 11.2 innings, Ramirez has allowed five hits and one walk while striking out 13 batters.

BISONS NOTES: INF JOSH SATIN has reached safely 23 times in the last nine games. His .561 on-base percentage since May 18 is 84 points higher than any other hitter...The Bisons are 3-0 this year in games after they've been shutout...Buffalo has 21 stolen bases in May after stealing only 10 in April.

METS UPDATE : The Mets' (27-21) picked up their second consecutive shutout with a 2-0 victory over San Diego on Sunday. Former Bisons RHP R.A.
