TODAY'S GAME: Today, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the first game of a five-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Yankees will serve as the home team tonight and tomorrow while the Herd will bat last Wednesday-Friday. This 10-game in nine-day homestand is the Bisons final regular season home games this year.

NOT QUITE HOME: This is the second series this season the Bisons will be the "road" team at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo batted first against the Yankees in a four-game series that the teams split, May 24-27. The Yankees are playing their entire 2012 season away from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as construction of a new ballpark takes place where PNC Field once stood.

vs. YANKEES: The Bisons are 5-6 against the Yankees this season. The teams have traded two-game sweeps recently, with the Herd winning a pair against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in Syracuse, July 7-8 and the Yanks taking two as the road team at Coca-Cola Field, August 10-11. The Bisons have not won a season series over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since they were the Red Barons during the 2005 season (9-7).

SCHWINDEN: RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN makes his 17th start with the Bisons tonight. The righty has a 2.33ERA with the Herd this year and a 2.99 mark in the International League (7th best in IL). Schwinden lost his last time out, allowing three earned in five innings to Lehigh Valley on August 15. He has struck out 32 in 37.1 innings and posted a 2.15ERA since the All-Star break.

LUTZ GO HERD: INF ZACH LUTZ had two hits yesterday, including his 9th home run of the season. Lutz has hit .462 (6-13) over a four-game hit streak. On the year, Lutz has hit .309 with 23 extra-base hits in 61 games. His .302 average in 127 career games with the Bisons is just 56 at-bats shy of qualifying as the 6th-best mark in the team's modern era.

McHUGH HONOR: RHP COLLIN McHUGH was named International League Pitcher of the Week today. The righty posted a 0.71ERA in two starts last week. He tossed seven shutout innings on Saturday to lead the Herd to a 2-0 win over Pawtucket in the Futures at Fenway doubleheader.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (57-64) suffered a 5-2 defeat to the Nationals on Sunday. Former Bisons RHP JEREMY HEFNER allowed five runs in five innings of work. Five different Mets hitters had multi-hit performances and 1B IKE DAVIS collected his 20th double. New York hosts the Rockies tonight at 7:10 p.m.
