Today's Game

This evening the Bisons open up a three-game series with the Rochester Red Wings. It is the first meeting of the season for the Thruway rivals of the 2019 season. After the series, Buffalo heads to Lehigh Valley for the second half of their seven-game road trip.

Last Game: BUF 3, LOU 7

After coming out strong with a two-run bottom of the first, the Bisons were not able to maintain the momentum and allowed seven runs on 16 hits in a losing effort. Socrates Brito brought in his first RBI for the team, alongside Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s 26th, in the bottom of the first but it was not enough even with Reese McGuire's sac-fly to bring in a run in the ninth.

Rochester (0-0)

The Bisons and Red Wings split last season's meetings almost even with the Herd taking eight games and Rochester taking nine. The Red Wings are currently on a four-game winning streak against Buffalo after closing out last season's series by winning the final four. The Bisons will travel to the Flower City and attempt to start off this season series with a win.

Today's Starter

LHP Shawn Morimando takes the hill for his eighth start and ninth overall appearance with the Bisons in 2019. The southpaw earned his first win of the season two starts ago on 5/9 at Gwinnett. However, his next start against the Stripers in Downtown Buffalo resulted in a loss. Morimando faced Rochester once last season with the Herd, his third start for the team in "18.

Socrates Brito

Outfielder Socrates Brito, in his first game with the Bisons, picked up his first RBI of the 2019 season. With a double he drove in

Teoscar Hernandez in the first inning as the first run of the game. He was then brought in on a a single to finish 1-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and a double.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove in his 26th RBI of the season on a single in the bottom of the first inning in Sunday's loss to Louisville. He is now hitting .284 on the year and will look to extend his hit streak to three games against the Red Wings.

Justin Shafer

Justin Shafer extended his scoreless inning streak to now cover five games. After pitching one inning against

the Louisville Bats and punching out two batters in the homestand finale, he continued to drop his ERA down to 1.08.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (19-28) dropped the first game of their homestand to the Boston Red Sox 12-2. Luke Maile hit a two-run home run off of LHP David Price in the second to bring in the team's only runs on the day. The Jays go into tonight, the second of the four-game set, looking to even the series at 7:05pm in Toronto.
