Buffalo Bisons News Release
Saturday's doubleheader between the Buffalo Bisons and the Syracuse Chiefs at Dunn Tire Park has been postponed due to wet grounds. The teams will play consecutive doubleheaders on Sunday, July 22 with the first game starting at 1:05 p.m. and Monday, July 23 with that first game starting at 6:05 p.m.
Each doubleheader will consist of two, seven-inning games.
The wet grounds were caused by a break in a valve of the Dunn Tire Park irrigation system over night into Saturday morning. That caused the infield to be completely flooded. Though the Bisons grounds crew worked throughout the day to dry the field, the conditions remained unsafe for play.
To show their appreciation for their great fans that were waiting through the delay, the Bisons offered free popcorn and soda to all in attendance. When it was determined that baseball couldn't be played, the Bisons players welcomed all fans in attendance onto the field for a 30-minute autograph session.
Fans holding tickets to Saturday's games can exchange them for a comparable ticket to any TWO future 2007 Bisons games. All ticket exchanges must be made at the Dunn Tire Park box office. Please note that these exchanges do not have to be made on Saturday, July 21. Fans with tickets can exchange them throughout the remainder of the 2007 season.
For more information regarding the exchange policy, fans can contact the Bisons at THE-HERD (843-4373).
