Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF MIKE CERVENAK has been placed on the disabled list with right plantar fasciitis. The team also announced that C SHAWN RIGGANS has been added to the club from extended spring training and C OMIR SANTOS has been transferred to Double-A Binghamton.
Cervenak has missed the last two Bisons games after leaving Sunday's contest against the Louisville Bats. He has hit .228 (18-79) with two home runs and six RBI in 21 games with the Herd. He hit in a Buffalo season-high 11-straight games form April 15-26.
A minor league free agent signing this off-season, Riggans played just two games with Binghamton to start the season (2-5, 2 doubles). He was placed on the disabled list on April 11 with a right shoulder strain and has been rehabbing the injury in extended spring training in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Santos hit .194 (7-36) with four doubles and two RBI in 10 games with the Bisons this season.
