Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts could not quite figure out Montgomery's pitching on Tuesday evening, and, as such, the Biscuits came away with a 6-1 win over Chattanooga at AT&T Field.
Montgomery entered the scoreboard first on a Henry Wrigley RBI single in the first inning, but the Lookouts tied up the game in the bottom of the third with a run of their own. Jake Lemmerman reached base on a one-out walk. Lemmerman advanced to second on a ball hit by J.T. Wise, which was bobbled ball by shortstop Hak-Ju Lee, allowing Lemmerman to advance to second and Wise to reach first. A pickoff attempt at first by pitcher Shane Dyer ended up in right field, allowing Lemmerman to scamper home on the play.
The Biscuits reclaimed the lead in the fourth inning. Michael Sheridan reached first on a one-out walk. After a Brad Coon line out, Mark Thomas hit a line drive down the right-field line. Sheridan reached home, and Thomas was ruled safe on a close play at third to the scurrilous objections of the AT&T fans.
Doubles by Lee and Kyeong Kang, followed by a single by Wrigley, augmented the Biscuits' lead, 4-1.
The runs kept flowing for Montgomery in the sixth with two more runs on an Emeel Salem triple.
Montgomery's bullpen was able to shut the door on the Lookouts for the remainder of the game to make the final score, 6-1.
Dyer (4-2) picked up the win for Montgomery, throwing six solid innings and yielding just a single unearned run.
Lookouts starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi dropped to 0-2 on the season with the loss. In five innings of work, he surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out six.
The Chattanooga Lookouts and Montgomery Biscuits will continue their five-game series at 11:15 A.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
