
Squires Transferred To Jupiter; Madden Transferred To Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that P Chris Squires has been transferred to the Jupiter Hammerheads. In a corresponding move, P Corey Madden has been transferred to the Jacksonville Suns. Madden is available for the Tuesday game in Jacksonville, Fla.
Squires heads to the Jupiter Hammerheads after appearing in nine games for the Suns in 2012. Squires pitched 11.2 innings with a 3.86 ERA, 11 strikeouts, five walks and one save for the Jacksonville Suns.
Madden, who has not yet thrown this season, pitched in Jacksonville last season and compiled a 2-1 record with a 2.72 ERA in 43 appearances. Madden will be assigned a number upon arrival in Jacksonville.
The Suns roster stands at 25, which is the maximum allowed in the Southern League.
