Chavez Placed on DL, Carroll Activated from DL

JACKSON, TENN. (MAY 8, 2012) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster moves that affects the Jackson Generals roster. OF Johermyn Chavez has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with a broken hamate bone in his left hand. OF Daniel Carroll has been activated from the 7-day DL.

CHAVEZ, 23, was removed from the game on Saturday night in the top of the ninth inning in Pensacola. X-rays revealed that he had broken the hamate bone in his left hand.

Chavez was batting .287 with 3 HR and 10 RBI this season in 28 games.

CARROLL, 23, returns from the DL after dislocating his left shoulder on April 16 in the 16th inning of the game with the Mississippi Braves. In 10 games with the Generals this season Carroll is batting .158 with 1 HR and 2 RBI on the season with 3 stolen bases. Carroll was 4-for-7 in the game on 4/16 in which he dislocated his shoulder.

The Generals roster stands at 25 active players and 2 disabled.
