Biscuits Struggle in 9-3 Loss

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (38-35, 1-2) only collected one hit after the third inning while the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (27-45, 2-1) matched a franchise-high with 15 hits in a 9-3 win for the Wahoos Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

The Wahoos scored six unanswered runs after the third inning while the Biscuits were held to two base runners after the third. Todd Glaesmann doubled in the sixth and Mayo Acosta walked in the seventh. Pensacola scored one run in the fifth, two in the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the ninth.

Daniel Renken (2-5) went six innings and allowed three runs while striking out six for the win. Trevor Bell and Chris Manno combined to pitch the final three scoreless-innings.

The Biscuits got on the board first with an RBI-double from Cameron Seitzer in the first inning. After the Wahoos scored three runs in the third to make it 3-1, the Biscuits quickly came back in their half of the third. Kevin Kiermaier ripped an RBI-triple and was then plated by a groundout from Robby Price to tie the game at three.

Game four is coming up Saturday night at 6:35. RHP Victor Mateo will be on the hill for the Biscuits while the Wahoos will have RHP Shaun Ellis to make the start.
