Barons Change Fourth of July Game Time To 6:00 PM
June 21, 2013 - Southern League (SL1)
Birmingham Barons News Release
Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons have announced that their July 4th game time has been changed from 6:30 PM to 6:00 PM. The change was made to accommodate the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show over Vulcan, allowing fans to view the show from their seats following the conclusion of the Barons' game against the Mississippi Braves.
"The Barons are excited to give our fans two great traditions on the same night: Watching America's pastime on the Fourth of the July and seeing a spectacular fireworks show after the game," said Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson. "We hope that this extra time will provide a buffer between the end of our game and the start of the fireworks show."
The Thunder on the Mountain fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:00 PM. The Barons will not have an additional firework show at Regions Field on July 4th so as not to detract from Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show.
