MONTGOMERY -- Gabriel Martinez blasted a tie-breaking three-run homer in the sixth inning, helping the Montgomery Biscuits (28-20; 63-55) to a 7-4 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (27-21; 56-62) before 5,213 at Riverwalk Stadium.

The win not only ended a three-game losing streak and a four-game home losing streak for Montgomery, it brought the Biscuits back within three games of first place Jacksonville in the South Division. The Suns fell hard at home to the Carolina Mudcats on Friday night, 19-3.

With the score tied 3-3, Reid Brignac led off the pivotal sixth by drawing a walk from reliever Rick Asadoorian (0-1). John Jaso followed with a single to left, bringing up Martinez. The third baseman's ensuing roundtripper marked his twelfth of the season and gave Montgomery a three-run lead. A sacrifice fly in his previous at-bat gave Martinez four RBIs in the game and nine in the first three games of the series.

Catcher Josh Arhart added his first home run of the season three batters after Martinez, giving the Biscuits a four-run cushion at 7-3.

Tim Corcoran (1-1) hurled perfect seventh and eighth innings in relief of Chris Mason to earn his first win with Montgomery.

Chattanooga's complete offensive output came in the third inning against Mason, thanks to a Tyrell Godwin RBI single and Enrique Cruz two-run double.

After Cruz's double, the Biscuits' ace set down 11 Lookouts in a row. He worked six innings in all, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out six.

The two squads will play the fourth game of the series at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Lefthander James Houser (5-4, 3.52) will start for Montgomery, opposed by Chattanooga righthander Justin Mallett (3-6, 4.28).
