(Sevierville, TN) August 10th- Alan Rick scored on a Mumba Rivera wild pitch, capping a three run ninth inning, to lift the Tennessee Smokies to a 10-9 win over the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx in game three of the five game series from Smokies Park. The improbable win by the Smokies raises their record to 25-23 in the second half of the season while the Diamond Jaxx second half record drops to 19-29.

With Tennessee trailing 9-7, Jorge Cortes led off the inning with a walk off lefty David Asher. Rivera was brought on to close the game. Nate Spears, pinch hitting for Robinson Chirinos, delivered a single to right to put runners at first and second with nobody out. Alan Rick then walked to load the bases with nobody out. Jemel Spearman made it 9-8 when he hit a chopper to the shortstop Jesus Merchan, who didn't have a play. Cortes scored to make it 9-8 with the bases loaded and nobody out. Rivera (4-6) then allowed a sacrifice fly by Issmael Salas, driving in Spears with the tying run to make it a 9-9 game. Casey McGehee came up and Rivera uncorked a wild pitch off Rene Rivera's glove to the Diamond Jaxx dugout on the third base side, scoring Rick with the winning run.

Tyler Colvin led the Smokies attack with four hits, including a homer and two RBI's. Spearman chipped in with two hits and two RBI's. Rocky Roquet (4-0) picked up the win despite giving up a run in one inning of work.

The Diamond Jaxx, who had a 6-0 lead after an inning and a half, were led offensively by Brent Johnson, Prentice Redman, Mike Wilson and Mike Saunders who had two RBI's each.

Game four of the five game series takes place on Saturday night at 6:15 CDT. Righty Joe Woerman (5-6 3.92) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Tennessee will counter with righty Justin Berg (5-7 5.06).
