Four homers lead Jaxx to win

(Sevierville, TN) August 9th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx played long ball on Thursday night as the Diamond Jaxx slugged four home runs in their 10-4 win over the Tennessee Smokies in game two of the five game series from Smokies Park.

Marshall Hubbard hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs to lead the Jaxx to victory while Luis Valbuena and Mike Wilson each homered and drove in two runs. The ten runs was more than enough for Doug Fister, who picked up his fourth win of the season to improve to 4-8 on the campaign.

Kyle Reynolds and Tyler Colvin had to hits each to pace the Smokies attack. Germantown, TN native Mark Holliman suffered the loss for the Smokies. Holliman (9-9) allowed six runs on eight hits in just four innings of work.

Game three of the series takes place on Friday night at 7:05 CDT. Lefty Justin Thomas (4-7 5.15) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Tennessee will counter with lefty Donnie Veal (6-9 5.23). In his three previous starts against the Diamond Jaxx, Veal has yet to give up a run in sixteen innings of work.
