The Suns hopped on the scoreboard first, with Ryan Fisher belting his team-leading fourth home run of the year in the top of the second to give the Suns an early 1-0 lead.
The Biscuits tied the ballgame at 1-1 when Cameron Seitzer drew a two-out bases loaded walk in the bottom of the third, and received the go-ahead RBI single from Luke Maile in the bottom of the seventh.
For the second time this season, Victor Mateo (W, 4-3) got the best of the Suns, nearly mimicking his April 24th line against the Suns. Mateo allowed a lone run on five hits in seven strong innings, while tying his season-high in strikeouts with nine. Mateo also had nine strikeouts in his April 24th start at Jacksonville.
Andrew Bellatti (SV, 4) earned the save for Montgomery after allowing one hit over two scoreless innings, recording four strikeouts along the way.
Anthony DeSclafani took another tough-luck loss for the Suns, working six-plus innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits, while establishing a new career-high in strikeouts with ten. Greg Nappo worked two perfect innings of relief, picking up a season-best three strikeouts in the process.
The Suns finished with a new season-high with 13 total strikeouts and DeSclafani's 10 strikeouts are the most by a single Suns pitcher in a game in 2014.
The Suns and Biscuits will be back at it bright and early Tuesday morning at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 11:35 a.m. ET. Jacksonville sends out the southpaw Andrew Heaney (2-1, 2.45) for Tuesday's ballgame, while Montgomery is set to counter with right-hander Dylan Floro (2-2, 5.79).
