Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Blue Wahoos catcher Bryan Anderson has earned a promotion to Triple-A Louisville. He will join the Bats for their game at home Monday night against Norfolk. Anderson was the Wahoos' second-leading hitter with an average of .343. He was also tied for the team lead with five home runs over 21 games.
Anderson was signed as a minor league free agent by the Reds during the offseason. He was originally a fourth round pick of the Cardinals in 2005. He played in 35 Major League games between stints with Cardinals and Chicago White Sox.
In his place, catcher Chris Berset will make his return to Pensacola. He has had stints with the Blue Wahoos over the last two seasons. The former 20th round pick out of the University of Michigan has hit .310 splitting time behind the plate in Bakersfield. The switch-hitting catcher has two home runs and nine RBI. He has hits in seven of his last eight games prior to his promotion to the Wahoos.
Berset is available for Monday's series opener with the Chattanooga Lookouts at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
