
Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Whataburger Team up for the Troops During Military Appreciation Month

For Military Appreciation Month, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Whataburger will partner to collect donations for the Northwest Florida United Service Organizations (USO). Donations will be collected during the Blue Wahoos' games and the USO will deliver the items directly to the troops currently serving the United States. Fans who donate during the drive will receive a coupon for a free Whataburger.
"At Whataburger we are dedicated to the communities we call home," said Whataburger Director of Operations Lee Cartledge. "We are honored to partner with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and contribute to a wonderful organization like the USO. It's a privilege to support the men and women who have served our country."
The Blue Wahoos, Whataburger and the USO are asking for specific items during each homestand. The dates and requested items are as follows:
May 5th - 9th (vs. Chattanooga Lookouts)
Individually wrapped snacks - Suggested items include pretzels, nuts and peanut butter crackers.
May 15th - 17th (vs. Jacksonville Suns)
Single-serve microwavable snacks - Suggested items include macaroni and cheese, ravioli and ramen noodles.
May 18th - 19th (vs. Jacksonville Suns) and May 21st - 24th (vs. Birmingham Barons)
Household supplies - Suggested items include batteries, hand wipes and liquid soap.
May 25 (vs. Birmingham Barons) and May 31st (vs. Jacksonville Suns)
Individually wrapped sweets - Suggested items include cookies and granola bars.
"With so many military connections in our local community, we are very excited about this month-long drive to support our troops," said Bruce Baldwin, Blue Wahoos President. "Our fans are always so supportive of our community initiatives, and we have a fantastic partner in Whataburger, so we look forward to gathering boxes and boxes full of useful goods for the USO's mission."
