MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (9-9) went back and forth with the Jackson Generals (5-10) on Monday night, but ultimately ended up on the wrong side of another one-run game losing 5-4 at Riverwalk Stadium.

In a game that saw four lead changes, Biscuits starter Jared Mortensen (1-1) was superb again, tossing seven innings of five-hit ball striking out five and allowing only one unearned run before turning things over to the bullpen. Stephen Landazuri on the other side was terrific, throwing five shutout innings of his own striking out four.

The Biscuits trailed 1-0 until a two-run triple by second baseman Tommy Coyle put them in front in the sixth. Biscuits reliever Matt Lollis surrendered a pair of runs in the ensuing inning that handed the advantage back to the Generals.

It was 3-2 Jackson entering the 8th when Johnny Field, Jr. stepped up to the plate and launched a two-run homerun that cleared everything except the county, giving the Biscuits a 4-3 lead.

But it wasn't to be Montgomery's night, as reliever Mark Sappington could not close the door in the ninth, allowing the first five batters he faced to reach base before plunking Generals second baseman Zach Shank with the bases loaded that plated the game-winning run.

The loss was only the Biscuits' third in their last eleven games. It will be up to Reinaldo Lopez (0-0) to get the Biscuits back to winning ways on Tuesday night against Generals left Kyle Hunter (1-0) at 7:05 PM.
