Knoxville Smokies News Release

KODAK - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to tonight's game against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Smokies Stadium.

Right-handed reliever Matt Brazis has been placed on the Disabled List retroactive to April 24. Over four appearances between the Smokies and High-A Myrtle Beach this season, the right-hander has combined for no record and (2 ER in 6.2 IP), adding two saves. Brazis made his Smokies debut on April 23 at Jackson, tossing a scoreless frame.

In a corresponding move, left-handed pitcher Jeffry Antigua has been transferred to Tennessee from Triple-A Iowa. In two appearances for the I-Cubs, including one start, the southpaw posted an 0-1 record and 7.50 ERA (5 ER in 6.0 IP). The lefty has also made one start with the Smokies in 2015, yielding a lone earned run on two hits in 3.2 frames on April 17 versus Pensacola.

Tennessee's roster now stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.

The Smokies will look to extend their winning streak to five tonight against the Chattanooga Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Tennessee is expected to give the ball to RHP Corey Black (1-0, 1.80), Baseball America's 16th-best Cubs prospect, in the third game of the series, while the Lookouts are slated to counter with RHP Jose Berrios (1-1, 3.94), rated by the same publication as the No. 36 overall prospect in baseball. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Smokies Stadium.

Tickets for that game, as well as all remaining home contests at Smokies Stadium, are on sale and can be purchased online at smokiesbaseball.com, or by calling the Smokies Ticket Office at 865-286-2300. Multi-game voucher packs and season tickets are also still available for purchase.
