Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (38-34, 1-1) got solid pitching, solid defense and some help from the long-ball in a 3-1 win over the Penscola Blue Wahoos (26-45, 1-1) Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Michael Colla (2-0) went seven strong innings for the Biscuits to get the win. Only making his third start as a Biscuit, the right-hander only allowed one hit - a solo shot from Theo Bowe in the second inning - while striking out three and walking three.

Montgomery got on the board first with a two-out, RBI-single from Mark Thomas in the second inning to make it 1-0. Todd Glaesmann hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Then Cameron Seitzer ripped his first double-A home run in the sixth inning to make it 2-1 Biscuits.

C.J. Riefenhauser (10) threw the final two innings to get the win. It was Riefenhauser's fourth, two-inning save and his tenth save in ten tries.

The middle-game of the series is Friday night at 7:05. LHP Enny Romero will be on the hill for the Biscuits while RHP Daniel Renken will throw for the Wahoos.
