
Biscuits Drop Series Opener to Shuckers

MONTGOMERY, AL - The Montgomery Biscuits (15-13) dropped their series opener 5-0 to the Biloxi Shuckers (14-14) on Tuesday night at Shuckers Ballpark.
The Shuckers scored three runs in the first inning and added two more on a homer in the fourth. Ian Seymour battled through five innings and allowed a season-high five earned runs on seven hits. The left-hander was able to cover five innings for a sixth straight start.
The club mustered two hits, both from Tanner Murray. He broke up a perfect game with a single to lead off the sixth inning.
Kyle Whitten pitched two shutout innings to follow up his two scoreless frames last Tuesday. He was promoted to Double-A for the first time on April 16.
The ballgame went two hours and one minute, the second-shortest nine-inning game of the season.
The second game of the series is on Wednesday morning at Shuckers Ballpark. Cole Wilcox will make the start for Montgomery while Bradley Blalock will start for Biloxi. The first pitch is at 11:05am CT. Fans can listen on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App, and Bally Live.
