
Birmingham's 124-97 Victory at Iowa Gives Squadron Third Straight Win

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, claimed victory in a third consecutive game, defeating the Iowa Wolves 124-97 on Monday Night at Wells Fargo Arena.
After leading by as many as 18 in the first half, the Squadron (9-19) advantage was trimmed to seven, 61-54, at halftime. Birmingham took over after intermission, outscoring Iowa (8-20) 63-43 in the second half.
Daeqwon Plowden led Birmingham in scoring with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 3-of-3 from three off the bench. Malcolm Hill tallied 18 points, while two-way guard Dereon Seabron notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, a season high for the NC State product.
Craig Randle II's 25 paced Iowa, and Matt Ryan added another 22 points for the Wolves.
Birmingham heads to Mexico City next for back-to-back contests against the Capitanes on Sunday and Monday at Mexico City Arena. Tip-off of Sunday's game is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on My68 WABM with Blake Gardner and Rick Moody on the call.
