Birmingham Squadron Re-Acquire Guard Jared Harper, Forward Malcolm Hill Rejoins Team

BIRMINGAHM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, announced today that the team has re-acquired guard Jared Harper as an affiliate player. Forward Malcolm Hill has also rejoined the team.

Harper (5-10, 175) re-joins the Squadron after spending time with the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-way contract. During his time in New Orleans, Harper played in two games, averaging 3.5 points, 1.5 assists, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 5.0 minutes per game.

This season with the Squadron Harper has played in 15 total games (15 starts), averaging 21.7 points, 5.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals while shooting .445 (105-for-236) from the field and .391 (43-for-110) from behind the arc. During the 14-game G League Showcase, Harper led the league in three-point percentage (min. 100 attempts) and was one of only three players in the league to average 20+ points and 5+ rebounds over the Showcase.

Hill (6-6, 220) rejoins the Squadron coming off a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks. During his time in Atlanta, Hill played in the first three NBA games of his career and averaged 5.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.3 blocks and 0.3 assists in Hill also shot a very accurate .625 percentage from the field (5-for-8), including .600 from the three-point line (3-for-5).

This season with the Squadron, Hill has played in 14 total games, averaging 16.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.4 blocks in 31.6 minutes. He also shot .398 from the three-point line during the G League's 14-game Showcase, a mark that ranked 10th in the league.
