
Biloxi and Tennessee Suspended in the Fifth

KODAK, TN - The Biloxi Shuckers and Tennessee Smokies had their series opener suspended in the top of the fifth inning on Tuesday night at Smokies Stadium. At the time the game was suspended, the Shuckers and Smokies were tied at 1-1.
Biloxi and Tennessee will resume their game at 4:30 pm Central on Wednesday afternoon. The game will be played to its conclusion as a nine-inning game and the two teams will play a seven-inning game approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.
The Shuckers jumped out to a lead in the first inning when Andruw Monasterio hit a solo home run with two outs. Tennessee brought the contest back level at 1-1 on a solo homer by Alexander Canario to lead off the bottom of the second inning. It was the only run allowed by RHP T.J. Shook, who surrendered two hits and two walks over four innings while striking out three.
Prior to the suspension, Gabe Holt led off the top of the fifth inning with a single. He'll resume the game at first with no outs in the inning.
In their seven-inning game, the Shuckers are set to send LHP Nick Bennett (4-7, 5.32) to the hill opposite RHP Chris Clarke (3-3, 4.56).
