Biloxi Shuckers News Release
KODAK, TN - Prior to the start of their six-game series against the Tennessee Smokies, the Biloxi Shuckers have made five roster moves. Catcher Jakson Reetz has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville, catcher Brent Diaz has been transferred to Biloxi from Nashville, outfielder Terence Doston has been transferred to High-A Wisconsin, while outfielders Tristen Lutz and Garrett Mitchell have both been activated from the injured list.
Reetz earns his first promotion to Triple-A in the Brewers' organization and his second trip to the Triple-A level. In 64 games with the Shuckers, Reetz slashed .281/.392/.636/1.028 with 16 doubles, 22 home runs, 58 RBI and 48 runs scored. At the time of his promotion, Reetz leads the Southern League in homers, slugging percentage and OPS, and was second in extra-base hits (38) and total bases (147). The catcher signed as a free agent and was originally drafted by the Washington Nationals in the third round of the 2014 draft out of Norris High School in Nebraska.
Diaz rejoins the Shuckers after a promotion to Nashville on July 2. In 31 games with Biloxi this year, Diaz has slashed .262/.350/.495 with six doubles, six home runs and 21 RBI. Doston heads to Wisconsin after appearing in 22 games with Biloxi, hitting .222 with a pair of doubles and six RBI.
Mitchell is activated after missing the last 47 games following a placement on the injured list on May 14. Rated as the number 4 prospect in the Brewers' system by MLB Pipeline, Mitchell was hitting .224 with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, 11 RBI and six stolen bases at the time of his injury.
Lutz also returns to Biloxi after being placed on the injured list on June 19. In his last 29 games before being placed on the IL, Lutz slashed .304/.372/.504 with eight doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI.
