
M-Braves Make Flurry of Roster Moves on Tuesday

PEARL, MS - The Atlanta Braves announced the following roster moves ahead of Tuesday's 6:35 pm CT series-opener against Rocket City. The Braves promoted LHP Dylan Dodd, INF Vaughn Grissom, INF Justyn-Henry Malloy, and LHP Lisandro Santos to Mississippi from High-A Rome. RHP Tyler Ferguson was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett, and INF Cade Bunnell was transferred to High-A Rome. The Braves moved INF Jordan Cowan's rehab assignment from the FCL Braves to High-A Rome.
RHP Tyler Ferguson posted a 3.69 ERA in 32 1/3 innings over 32 relief appearances for the M-Braves. He will be part of a Triple-A roster for the first time in his career. Atlanta signed Ferguson to a minor league free agent contract on June 17, 2021.
Ferguson is the third M-Brave to be promoted to Gwinnett. The Braves promoted RHP Freddy Tarnok on July 8. Atlanta promoted RHP William Woods on April 19, and Woods made his MLB debut on April 26. Atlanta selected the contract of Michael Harris II on May 28, who is batting .294 with seven homers and 24 RBI in 42 games for the Braves this season.
According to MLB Pipeline, Grissom, 21, ranks as Atlanta's No. 5 prospect. In 74 games for High-A Rome, the infielder hit .312 with 15 home runs and 55 RBI. Atlanta drafted Grissom in the 11th round of the 2019 draft.
Malloy, 22, hit .304 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI in 71 games for High-A Rome. Atlanta drafted Malloy in the sixth round of the 2021 draft from Georgia Tech.
Dodd, 24, went 9-5 with a 3.44 ERA in 89.0 innings over 15 starts for Rome. Atlanta drafted Dodd in the third round of the 2021 draft.
Santos, 23, posted a 3.40 ERA in 20 appearances, four starts, over 47 2/3 innings. The left-hander has 81 strikeouts to 25 walks. Atlanta signed Santos as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016.
Cowan began the season with the M-Braves before moving to the 7-day injured list on April 16. He continues his rehab assignment in High-A Rome after six games for the FCL Braves.
The M-Braves continue their homestand tonight with game one of a six-game series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas at Trustmark Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 pm with gates opening at 5:30 pm.
