LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club is pleased to announce Bill Reddick as the Chair of the 2020 Memorial Cup Bid Committee while Hurricanes General Manager of Business Operations Terry Huisman will serve as Co-Chair.

Reddick is a University of Lethbridge graduate. He has spent the last 19 years as a Chartered Accountant and is currently a partner with Mercer Wilde Group Charted Accountants in Lethbridge. He has been involved in hockey in a number of capacities, including the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association as a coach.

"I was pretty humbled and very privileged to be approached to Chair the Memorial Cup Bid Committee and I'm very excited," said Reddick. "First step for us is to reach out to people in the community about getting them on board in a volunteer perspective and try to bring the people around us that we know will support and give us the background to run such a prestigious event."

Huisman has been the GM of Business Operations for the Hurricanes since 2012. The Lethbridge product has served as a vital person in the resurgence of the organization and leading them out of a dire financial situation. "I'm very excited to sit alongside Bill on the Memorial Cup

Bid Committee," said Huisman. "We think that Bill is a great person to help us bring the 2020 Memorial Cup to the City of Lethbridge. There is a lot of hard-work ahead of us and that process starts now."

The full bid committee will be announced at a later date.

The Hurricanes announced their intentions to bid on the 2020 Memorial Cup tournament and are one of four teams bidding for the right to host the tournament. The others include the Kamloops Blazers, Kelowna Rockets and Victoria Royals. The Hurricanes have never hosted the Memorial Cup before.
